Our Story

KirbyG’s Diner & Pub was born from a love of classic American diners and a deep connection to McDonough, Georgia. Named in honor of Dr. R. Kirby Godsey — a beloved Mercer University figure known for his wisdom and community spirit — we set out to create a place where friends and families can gather, just like the diners of the 1950s.

From the moment you walk in, you’ll feel the nostalgia: chrome details, vintage vibes, and the sizzle of burgers on the grill. We’re proud to be a family-owned business serving Henry County with hearty portions and even bigger smiles.

What Makes KirbyG’s Special

  • Fun Atmosphere – Trivia Thursdays, Live Music Fridays, and classic car nights

  • Quality Ingredients – Fresh, never frozen beef and house-made specialties; locally sourced brisket blend from Disruption BBQ

  • Community Focus – Supporting local schools, events, and families

Come As You Are

Whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch, bringing the whole family for dinner, or ordering catering for your next event, everyone is welcome at KirbyG’s.

We believe great food and good company never go out of style.

Awards and Accomplishments

Through the grace of God, we’ve been blessed with many awards and accomplishments over the years. The best burgers in McDonough and many local favorites started as attempts to create something new for our fans! It’s been a team effort at KirbyG’s, starting with “Taste Test Tuesdays.” Who knew those humble ideas would lead AJC readers to vote us the best burger place in metro Atlanta (twice!) or help us win the 2018 World Burger Championship against some of the best chefs in the world? It hasn’t always been all glory, but we are driven to create something that impacts our community.
