Hey there! We just wanted to share some helpful parking information for the City of McDonough. We have over 2,200 parking spaces available, so you won’t have to worry about finding a spot! For all the designated parking areas, feel free to check out Google Maps.
If you’re looking for free parking, you can find it south of Sloan St. along Macon and Griffin Street. Plus, our local churches and the city parking deck offer free parking on both sides of the square, which is super convenient!
For those using metered parking, you’ll find it in front of the diner, around the square, and at the Tarpley parking lot off Hampton Street. The great news is that all metered parking is FREE AFTER 5 PM! And many business lots are also available for use after that time.

Welcome to KirbyG’s® Diner, a family-owned, cook-to-order local restaurant that started in 2008 as Chevy’s Diner. In 2012-2013, we trademarked KirbyG’s after our namesake, R. Kirby Godsey—a former soda jerk and president of Mercer University—as a tribute to the 1950s. Enjoy hand-pattied burgers, mouth-watering sandwiches, succulent salads, cold microbrews, and unique starters like Desi’s Fried Dill Pickles or Mr. Green Jean's Fried Green Beans. Discover why “The '50s Never Tasted Better!” We invite guests to tackle the Pit Crew challenge and stroll down memory lane: match names to faces, quotes to stars, and characters to movies—spot them on our walls or among our burgers, salads, and sandwiches on our menu.

Wings, side salad (no croutons), kettle chips, sweet potato tots, and chili are available. I recommend trying the Bob's Burger Bowls, BB's Wings, Rockabilly Chicken, or the Honeymooner without the Texas Toast on the side. Please note that our fries have a very light bread coating. Some patrons have mentioned that the fries do not seem to bother them, but everyone is different. Please use your own discretion.
