We know parking can feel tricky downtown, but with over 2,200 spaces (free, metered & business), there's plenty of room. Here's how to find it easily: 

Free Parking: Park south of Sloan St., along Macon & Griffin Streets, at local churches (First Baptist Church of McDonough or McDonough First United Methodist), or at the city deck behind the courthouse – all free & convenient. 

Metered Parking is right in front of the diner, around the square, and the Tarpley lot off Hampton St. Metered parking is FREE after 5 PM – perfect for dinner & live music!

Welcome to KirbyG’s® Diner, a family-owned, cook-to-order restaurant that has been serving the community since 2008. Originally known as Chevy's Diner, we trademarked the name KirbyG's in honor of R. Kirby Godsey — a former soda jerk and president of Mercer University — as a tribute to the 1950s. 

So, take the Pit Crew challenge & stroll down memory lane. Put a name to a face, a quote to a star & a character to a movie. For the very brave, you may even attempt to find them on our walls or on our menu. 

Patrons are treated to hand-pattied burgers such as Ike's "I Like Cheese" Burger, Ole Blue Eyes, and The Duke. If a hamburger isn't for you, diners will find mouth-watering delectables such as Desi's Fried Dill Pickles, Rock-a-Billy's Grilled Chicken, & the Whiz Kids Philly Cheesesteak.

Our kitchen handles common allergens. Always inform your server of allergies. We take precautions, but cannot guarantee 100% allergen-free due to shared equipment. Staff are trained to assist. 

Milk: In many items (butter/margarine in cooking, sauces like ranch/blue cheese/lemon pepper). Request separate prep.

Eggs: In mayo (Spicy Mayo, dressings), and as burger toppings. Request separate prep.

Fish/Crustacean Shellfish: None.

Gluten-Free Items: Wings, side salad (no croutons), kettle chips, sweet potato tots, chili. Try Bob's Burger Bowls, BB's Wings, Rockabilly Chicken, or Honeymooner (no Texas Toast). Lettuce wraps available. Fries have a light bread coating—use discretion (shared fryer).

Soybeans: Soy oil in fryers; butter/margarine soy-free.

Tree Nuts/Peanuts: Not used in prep. Some ice cream may have peanut butter/pistachios. Peanuts have been discontinued as a topping.

Sesame: Not used. "Everything Seasoning" is occasionally sprinkled on top of buns during specials.
