2013 Best Burger Award
You say, “KirbyG’s (used to be Chevy’s) in McDonough. Big and juicy burgers on a toasted and buttered bun – Delicious! Vortex used to be my favorite, so Vortex-lovers don’t knock KirbyG’s (because of all the nominations it’s getting) until you’ve tried it. It’s worth the trip”
2012 Best Burger Award
You say, “…Old Blue Eyes is a half pound of awesome-ness with two pieces of thick cut bacon and bleu cheese crumbles.. There’s something about the seasonings they use in the freshly made patties, y’all. It’s just the best burger I’ve ever had!” and “Fantastic hunks of beef on enormous buns with fresh everything — This is the kind of hamburger that you crave and nothing else will do…”
In a Word, KirbyG’s Diner is FABULOUS
When One Fabulous Mama sent out an all call to her friends for good eats in McDonough last Friday night, they responded with a list about a mile long of their favorite places to belly up and chow down. I was most intrigued by the sound of KirbyG’s Diner which sits just off the square in historic downtown McDonough. I’m a big fan of historic downtown anywhere, so I was already sold before we even got there, y’all. Really, my favorite part about living in Georgia these past ten years has been getting to know communities by how they treat their squares. McDonough is doing just fine, I’m happy to report.
